Round the World in 188 Days: New Cruise Hits 37 Countries

World cruises are taking center stage in the travel industry, with Azamara Cruises making waves by announcing a colossal 188-night voyage set for 2027. This small-ship cruise line, known for its intimate travel experiences, is upping the ante with a route that promises a blend of iconic destinations and off-the-beaten-path locales. The journey, aboard the Azamara Quest, is poised to appeal to adventurers ready to see the world in one unforgettable trip.

Setting sail on January 5, 2027, from San Francisco, the 702-passenger Azamara Quest will traverse 37 countries and five continents, wrapping up in Copenhagen on July 12, 2027. The route kicks off with a westward Pacific crossing to New Zealand and Australia, before heading north along the Asian coast to vibrant cities like Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. This isn’t just another whirlwind tour, though; the smaller size of the ship allows access to ports that larger vessels can’t navigate, making for a more curated and exclusive experience.

The itinerary continues with a second transpacific crossing, taking travelers up to Alaska and down North America’s West Coast before cruising through the Panama Canal. From there, the ship charts a course up the East Coast to Canada’s Newfoundland before heading across the Atlantic to Europe. The grand finale includes a tour of the Baltic Sea, offering a mix of cultural hotspots and quieter, lesser-explored gems. With 50 late-night port stays and 15 overnight stops, guests have ample time to immerse themselves in local cultures and savor each destination beyond the typical rushed shore excursions.

For those who can’t commit to the full 188-night adventure, Azamara offers a more flexible option: the journey is divided into 12 smaller segments lasting two to three weeks each. These segments make it possible to experience specific regions like Japan and South Korea in April 2027 or Northern Europe and the Baltic in June and July 2027. It’s a thoughtful approach for travelers with time constraints or those who want to focus on particular destinations.

For the true globetrotters willing to tackle the entire cruise, Azamara sweetens the deal with a $40,000 incentive package. Full-voyage guests will enjoy perks like an $8,500 onboard credit, unlimited laundry service, complimentary medical consultations, free Wi-Fi, and a premium beverage package. Pre-cruise benefits include airfare credits and a luggage shipping reimbursement to ease the logistics of such an extensive trip. Pricing starts at $49,279 per person for an interior cabin, climbing to $180,309 for the luxurious Club World Owner’s Suite. While it’s a significant investment, Azamara is betting that the combination of an epic itinerary and premium perks will make this voyage an irresistible bucket-list experience.
