A trip to the so-called “happiest place on Earth” is about to get a little pricier. Walt Disney World has just opened ticket sales through October 31, 2025, and the cost of a single park, one-day visit has jumped from $109 to $119. According to USA Today, this marks Disney’s first price hike at its flagship Orlando resort since December 2022.
If you’re hoping to snag a ticket at the current $109 rate, you better act fast. Disney’s ticket price calendar shows that the last day visitors can get in for that price is September 26, 2024. Looking ahead to 2025, prices for a one-day ticket to Magic Kingdom could be as high as $184. And if you’re opting for the “Park Hopper” pass, which lets you hop between multiple parks in a single day, expect to pay $247.
According to Don Munsil, who runs MouseSavers.com, this pricing strategy is a bit of a shift for Disney. “In the past, Disney would just raise all the ticket prices at once,” Munsil told CNN. Now, they seem to be rolling out new prices gradually as they add dates to their calendar. Interestingly, 2024 ticket prices remain unchanged, which makes this new approach stand out.
Even with the rising prices, savvy travelers might still find ways to save. According to Tom Bricker of the Disney Tourist Blog, Disney has been offering a lot of discounts since the last ticket price increase in December 2022. For those looking to keep costs down, it pays to keep an eye on Disney’s special offers and deals page, which is regularly updated with promotions. Currently, they’re promoting up to 30% off hotel stays for longer visits, as well as special offers for U.S. military members.
In a bid to offer even more value, Walt Disney World recently announced that visitors staying at on-site hotels would get free access to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach water parks. For those planning a Disney vacation and looking to avoid breaking the bank, experts recommend timing your trip during the off-season to dodge the peak summer crowds and holiday price hikes.
